I can not express my feelings very clearly with words when I make online shopping for some products. I just feel a sense of achievement when I get something at a much lower price than that other people around me are charged with. I am fully aware of the advantage of e-commerce that benefits consumers in an efficient way. With the repaid development of the network, we are sure to see the bright future of online shopping. I often search the Internet to accumulate latest information about the new trade of fashion, especially about the fashionable types of prescription glasses because I am fond of gathering different styles of eyeglasses as my collections in my spare time. Though I myself do not need to wear eyeglasses, I take this collection as my hobby. The eyeglasses on local optical shops are too expensive for me to afford and I have to collect different types of old eyeglasses from my friends.

I’d like to wear fashion glasses

Eventually, I find a better place for me to catch up with the date of stylish eyeglasses. Well, online shopping may no longer be new to common people; but online shopping for eyeglasses may be a little novel. I adopt this purchasing method for many years but I begin ordering eyeglasses from online stores before long. Recently, I take to an online glasses store where all kinds of eyeglasses are at sales. The eyeglasses on the site are featured with faddish styles and exquisite designs. Indeed, the prices are the most attractive to me. I like this way to get more eyeglasses also because they can be delivered to the door by the express. When I find this online store, I browse the page site carefully to collect enough information about the most fashionable style of eyeglasses at present. In order to assure my taste of fashion is correct, I chat with the service personnel to make some inquires. With the working stuff’s guidance, I soon realize what I need.

I order three pairs of eyeglasses from the online store. One is designed for kids, one for women and one for men. These three pairs are all in vogue and among the best sales. I am really happy when I wait for the package at home. These three pairs must be my precious treasures. Next time, I will visit this online store again to see whether there are new types of eyeglasses.

I love books. When I was only a little child, I began to engage in reading fictions and novels. So at my teens, my eyes had been so poor that I had to wear the heavy pair of glasses. I hate wearing glasses. But I want to wear a pair of sunglasses. Especially in the hot summer, I can’t endure to wear the heavy glasses for a moment longer. I hope to have a pair of beautiful sun glasses.

Should people like me wear sunglasses? Are there suitable glasses for the myopia people? Every summer, I always envy people who can wear their favorite sun glasses. It looks so cool. But I have to wear the annoying glasses. It is a really nuisance, especially in the strong sunlight. I even can’t open my eyes as usual. Although my eyesight is poor, I am longing for a pair of sunglasses.

This is my wish for over ten years. Unfortunately I have not realized the wish. Recently some of my friends having poor eyesight began to wear sun glasses. It attracts me a lot. Maybe I should buy a pair of sun glasses, too. So I couldn’t help asking them where to buy the proper sun glasses as the myopia. One of my friends told me that her sun glasses were bought in the on-line shop. It is cheap, convenient, in style and has high-quality. From that time, I tried to surf on the Internet and find the sun glasses suitable for me. A week ago, I found a wonderful on-line glasses shop by chance. There are many wonderful sun glasses for the myopia. They are all high-tech products protecting the eyes and adding more charm to your summer life. After the careful choice, I booked a pair of brown lens glasses. This style is in vogue this year. Yesterday I received my sun glasses. And until now, I have been in full excitement.

Today I went out wearing the new sun glasses. I saw the strong sunlight becoming light and felt the air cooler. This is the magic of the sun glasses. Because of this new pair of glasses, my journey became more comfortable. Thanks to the sun glasses, I can enjoy the sunlight and a cooler summer life.

This summer has already gone away. However, I feel my eyes get injured. My eyes often feel tired and uncomfortable.

This is quite strange, because I think I have taken good care of my eyes since I knew I got short-sighted. I would always prepare a pair of ray ban sunglasses with resin lenses in my car and wear it when I am driving. Therefore, what the problem is?

I go to see my doctor to get the answer. At first, I can’t help complaining my situation and told him about the above things. After that, my doctor tells me that he may have found the killer, both for my eyes and glasses, which is the high temperature. I suggest you take a good look at your sunglasses in the car now.

As the doctor has speculated, the lenses of my ray ban sunglasses have been obscure. He told me that the structure of the resin lens often consists of three layers and each layer has different dilatation. If the temperature reaches 60℃, the lenses will become obscure.

For a short-sighted driver, he will take off the sunglasses and wear the short-sighted glasses after driving. Then the sunglasses will be left in the car. There is an experiment showing that temperature in the car could over 50℃ when the outdoor temperature reaches 32℃. In this case, the sunglasses in the car are subject to damage.

It is also a reminder of not going to places where high temperature is predominant with a pair of resin glasses, such as sauna field.

In addition, the abrasion of resin lenses will cause big damage to eyesight. When the transparency of the resin lens declines, people will easily get the weary feeling, especially the short-sighted and astigmatic people. This is extremely harmful to the drivers who need to concentrate on driving. If drivers feel tried, it is likely to cause traffic accidents. What’s more, the change of the resin lenses caused by the high temperature may even cause frame deformation, which will hurt the eye muscle.

Therefore, we have known that the high temperature can also be the killer for our glasses, even eyes. My advice is do not leave your resin glasses in the car in summer and keep it away from high temperature in order to protect your eyes. Do not make the same mistake as I did.

Guinness has verified the 4,436 Chicagoans who attended a July viewing of “Duck Soup” set the record for “most people wearing Groucho Marx glasses.”

The glasses are a tribute to comedian Julius Henry “Groucho” Marx of the Marx brothers. “Duck Soup” has become a classic Marx Brothers movie.

Using technology borrowed from lighthouses, a student designs glasses that could aid both competitive athletes and urban bike riders.

Student concepts usually fall well short of either marketability or feasibility. But Billy May, who just graduated from college last year, created a concept which clears both hurdles: A set of eyeglasses that increases the wearer’s peripheral vision, thanks to technology used in lighthouses.

May created the glasses as a fantasy product for Nike, though the company was unaffiliated with their development. That said, if we were product developers at Nike, we’d be in hot pursuit of this one. The glasses extend the wearer’s peripheral vision by 25% on each side–and that would be a massive help to urban cyclists, and almost any other competitive athlete: Cyclists, swimmers, runners, and horse jockeys all depend heavily on peripheral vision, to gauge their competitors.

They work using Fresnel lenses, which were first invented for use in lighthouses, where the ridged profile allowed thinner glass to be used in magnifying light; thus, the light could shine both wider and farther, since it wasn’t being dimmed by thick glass. Today, Fresnel lenses show up in all kinds of places, from traffic lights to overhead projectors.

May’s invention calls for the lenses to be used at the outside corners of a pair of sports glasses. While they might distort images, that’s not important to peripheral vision, since in the corners of eyes, we only detect motion. Using these, May believes the field of vision would be even greater than the 120-degree arc that’s typical for humans–allowing eyesight that’s very nearly “in the back of your head.” (As Gizmag notes, it’s a whole hell of a lot cooler than lame previous efforts at see-behind glasses.)

While it might seem like you could easy get as much functionality by turning your head to avoid situations like the one below, that basically misses the point. Having 25% vision on either side at all times is surely a large enough boon to prevent some serious injuries–or to get caught on the outside, by a sneaky pass. Get to work on a prototype, Billy!

The Somerset County Office for the Disabled will be holding a “spring-cleaning” collection of used prescription eyeglasses through April.

The public is invited to donate used eyewear that will be given to people home and abroad who do not have access to eye care.

Eyeglasses may be placed in a drop box in the lobby of the Somerset County Human Services Building at 27 Warren St., in Somerville weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Free parking is available in the visitors’ parking lot at the corner of Veterans Memorial Parkway and Warren Street. Metered parking also is available on Main Street.

“This is the fifth year the county is collecting eyeglasses,” said Freeholder Patricia Walsh, human services liaison. “Thanks to the public’s generosity, more than 3,000 eyeglasses have been donated in past collections.”

Collected eyeglasses will be distributed by New Eyes for the Needy of Short Hills to medical missions and international charitable organizations around the globe. Residents of the United States will be given vouchers, which they then can use to purchase new prescription eyeglasses.

New Eyes for the Needy is a non-profit organization that has been distributing used eyeglasses since 1932 to people who are in desperate need of them.

In addition to prescription eyewear, the Office for the Disabled will be collecting nonprescription sunglasses and precious metal scraps, such as old watches, jewelry, silverware and hearing aides. These items are sold for their metal content to buy prescription lenses.
