My Respectable Teacher is Good!

I’ve been graduated from the junior high school for many years. Even though she did not teach me, every year I will send her a postcard at the end of the year.

She taught us English when we were in the third year of the junior high school. She was very strict with us. The picture of the first time she entered in our classroom was still remembered by me.

The bell rang. We all sat at our desks, still talking. She came to our classroom, standing at the door and watching us silently. We still talked and ignored her. She stood there and gazed at us, without any expression. The time passed away. The president of our class stood up and cried to us,

“Be quiet! It’s time to class.” He tapped on his desk hardly. We looked at him and turn to our new teacher. Then we were quiet gradually. She went in and put her books on the teacher’s desk.

She didn’t stand in front of us. Instead she waked around us in the classroom, without any word.

She was almost 50 years old, with short hair and a pair of glasses on her nose made her looked a little old.

“Now you all talked enough. It’s time for me to talk.” She said, with a little smile on her face.

“I am your new English teacher. My name is Emma Coach. You could call me Mrs. Emma or Emma but not coach.”

We were all laughed.

She taught English very well. In her class, most of us changed our lazy habits and listened to her carefully. She often recommended some good novels and let us read. She liked staying with us. She often read some good essays to us on purpose of improving our interesting on English. She told us we must spend much time to learn English because it’s our mother language.

I didn’t like English previously. But because of her, English has become one of my favorite subjects.

She was old and wore a pair of presbyopic eyeglasses. In the class, we often see her remove her glasses when reading her text and then put the glasses on when watching us. We students have discussed this and want to know whether we can help her.

Then one day, one of our classmates told us he has found a great website. It’s the bigeyeopic.com website which is focused on the selling of progressive glasses. He told us in the website a great pair of glasses, namely bifocal or progressive glasses was sold, which can help our teacher. By wearing of this kind of glasses, there is no need of put the glasses on when watching far away a put the glasses off when reading near.

When we heard of this, we all felt excited. We consulted with each other and we all contributed some money. In our graduation ceremony, when we offered this pair of glasses to Emma, she was moved and tears dropped.
