A couple of years ago in a sculpture class somebody did a “shindogou” (Japanese “un-useless” invention) of glasses that screw into your head, almost exactly like this. Like all shindogou it was meant as a joke.
James Sooy has developed a new pair of eyeglasses that mounts into the bridge of your nose, via piercing.
Dubbed, “Pierced Glasses”, they offer people who are already cool about body piercings with a practical use for their love of body art.
He’s working on bringing it to the consumer market. Read an interview with Sooy.
You think pierced glasses are are too extreme? James perhaps summed it best…
“Paying … to have someone cut your eyes and shoot a laser in them (just so you don’t have to wear glasses) seems extreme to me…”
Isn’t it an awesome idea?
